State Planning Approval Process
Development approval will be sought under the State Planning Act 2016. We are in the early stages of development and are preparing the planning and technical assessments for a development application in accordance with State Code 16 and 23 requirements.
The technical assessments will inform the design of the Project along with support the development application. They include:
A Relevant Purpose Determination application will be sought under the Vegetation Management Act 1999 for clearing of native vegetation for the purpose of the Project.
Commonwealth Environmental Approval Process
The Project has been referred to the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) under the Commonwealth Environment Protection and Biodiversity Act 1999 (EPBC Act) (EPBC 2022/09428).
It was determined by the Minister for Environment that the Project is a ‘controlled action’ that requires formal assessment and approval under the EPBC Act.
We have completed the ecological survey program to inform the Public Environment Report and are preparing the relevant documentation for assessment by DCCEEW.
