OX2 Proud to Support the 2026 Monto Show

OX2 was proud to sponsor and attend the 2026 Monto Show, continuing our commitment to being present, accessible and engaged in the communities where we operate.

The Monto Show remains a much‑loved regional event, bringing together people of all ages to celebrate agriculture, creativity and community spirit. In 2026, the Show was held on ANZAC Day, with the theme “We Will Always Remember Them” serving as a heartfelt tribute to the men and women from the local community who have served in the Australian Armed Forces. The theme recognised not only their service, but also their lives beyond uniform - as farmers, workers, volunteers, neighbours and family members who helped shape the strength and character of their communities.

This year, OX2 sponsored a wide range of show sections, including stud cattle, woodchop, chainsaw, poultry, upcycling and literacy, reflecting both the region’s strong agricultural roots and the diverse interests within the community.

The Kariboe Wind Farm project team, including Project Manager, Kaylah Malishev, and Land Manager, Michael Gwynne, joined OX2's Vice President Australia, Stephen Symons, at the show and enjoyed the opportunity to meet and talk with locals from a wide range of age groups and backgrounds.  The team appreciated the chance to answer questions and share information about The Project. Younger community members, particularly high‑school‑aged attendees, were particularly interested in learning about renewable energy and the kinds of jobs and training opportunities that could be available.

The locally sourced gingerbread men and fudge treats from Red Cherry Kitchen, were a hit with visitors to our stand.

OX2 Project Manager, Kaylah Malishev, was pleased to present one of the sponsored awards, acknowledging the effort and pride that exhibitors bring to the event each year.

“We really appreciated the support and welcome from the Monto Show leadership committee and the many volunteers involved,” said Stephen Symons. “It takes a huge amount of work to deliver an event of this scale, and that effort makes a meaningful difference to the region. Being part of important local events like the Monto Show gives us the opportunity to engage with community members in an open and respectful way, and we look forward to continuing this approach as our project progresses and as we remain active participants in the communities we are part of.”
